摘要
A method of preparation of deoxophylloerythroetioporphyrin using the chlorophyll derivative, pheophytin, as the starting material has been worked out. In the procedure pheophytin is first converted into pyropheophorbide which is further degraded to deoxophylloerythrin in a single composite reaction based on the Wolff-Kishner reduction. Deoxophylloerythrin is then decarboxylated to yield deoxophylloerythroetioporphyrin by a sevenstep reaction which includes Curtins rearrangement, Hofmann degradation, and catalytic hydrogenation. © 1968, American Chemical Society.
