摘要
During the last years the number of applications of ion sensitive electrodes has increased very rapidly, especially in connection with their use in analytical and clinical chemistry as well as in biochemistry. In many cases automated systems are involved. The optimalisation of these techniques requires the knowledge of the fundamental characteristics of the kinetics and potential determining mechanism of the sensor. This article describes the mechanistic study of the fluoride electrode involving the impedance measurement technique. From the results it followed that the linear equivalent model of the fluoride electrode can be deduced. It is shown that the impedance measurement technique is a powerful tool to elucidate the mechanism of the membranes response and that it allows to determine the characteristics of other types of membranes. It is therefore obvious that it can contribute to elucidate the complex mechanisms encountered when living cells are concerned. © 1978.
