C-13 NMR RELAXATION-TIME OF FULLERENE AS A FUNCTION OF MAGNETIC-FIELD

摘要
The C-13 spin-lattice relaxation time of C60 in carbon disulfide was measured at four different frequencies, 50.288, 75.432, 100.576 and 150.864 MHz. A good linear fit of T-1 as a function of B0(2) is obtained. The small value of the intercept T1(-1) at B=0 equal to 3.51 X 10(-4)s-1 shows that the chemical shift anisotropy is the dominant term to the relaxation rate over all the frequency range considered. The correlation time tau(c) (16 ps) obtained shows that the C60 motion may be described through the Stokes--Einstein-Debye model.
