STABILITIES OF DIFFERENT HYDRIDES AT THE AU/HYDROGENATED-SI INTERFACE

摘要
The formation of the Au/hydrogenated-Si(100) interface has been studied by Rutherford-backscattering spectrometry and nuclear-reaction analysis. The results show that upon the deposition of Au (a) Hydrogen desorbs from the dihydride-terminated surfaces to form a monohydride surface and (b) hydrogen remains on the monohydride-terminated surfaces. This indicates that Si dihydride is converted to monohydride, and that monohydride is a very stable phase during the formation of the Au/hydrogenated-Si interface.
