FLOWING AFTERGLOW LANGMUIR PROBE MEASUREMENT OF THE N2+(V = 0) DISSOCIATIVE RECOMBINATION RATE COEFFICIENT

摘要
A measurement of the dissociative recombination coefficient alpha is presented for reactions of electrons with ground state N2+ (X2-SIGMA-g+, upsilon = 0) ions at 300 K. The measurement has been made under truly thermalized conditions using a Flowing Afterglow Langmuir Probe (FALP). The rate constant was determined to be alpha[N2+ (upsilon = 0)] = 2.6 x 10(-7) cm3 s-1 which is in good agreement with previous data except for the latest merged beam experiment.
