INTERPRETATION OF THE THERMOPOWER MEASUREMENTS OF YBA2CU3OX WITH 6-GREATER-THAN-X-GREATER-THAN-7 AND 400-DEGREES-C-GREATER-THAN-T-GREATER-THAN-900-DEGREES-C

摘要
The themopower has been measured in YBa2Cu3Ox together with the conductivity. Although, it is positive in the whole range of oxygen composition, it shows a tendency to a n-p inversion for low oxygen content. A good fit was obtained by assuming • -first: a metallic conductivity of the linear chains for x=7; • -second: a hopping electron motion for low oxygen content; • -third: a strong localization of half of the hole content; • -fourth: a gap of about 0.8eV between the Cu3d10 band states and the upper Hubbard band of the 3d9 fifthly coordinated copper. © 1990.
