摘要
Linear intensity differences from chiral molecules randomly oriented in an optically isotropic phase are presented in terms of transition matrix elements of exact non-singular polarizability and optical activity operators for the two distinct dual linear polarization (DLP) modulation Raman optical activity (ROA) experiments in right-angle scattering. Using this formalism a new type of resonance scattering mechanism has been disclosed for the generation of DLP ROA from even-electron molecules belonging to point groups with real irreducible representations which emphasizes the importance of the second (non-resonant) term in the Kramers-Heisenberg-Dirac dispersion formula under resonance conditions.
