摘要
The method for solving the Faddeev equations for atomic problems proposed in Paper I of this series is reexamined using a new separable representation for the off-shell two-body amplitude. Specific details for the determination of the collision amplitudes are worked out. A new set of reduced equations with proper inhomogeneous terms are obtained for cases with identical particles (electrons). As an illustrative example, the phase shift for low energy electron scattering by a hydrogen atom is calculated and compared with that calculated from conventional methods. In Appendix A, the possibility of applying the Faddeev equations to heavy-particle reactions using approximate or phenomenological atom-atom pair interactions is investigated. © 1969 The American Physical Society.
