摘要
Cobalt chloride in diglyme is a useful catalyst for the allylic oxidation of cyclohexene, affording 2-cyclohexen-1-ol as the major product and 2-cyclohexen-1-one as the by-product. The ketone is the predominant product when the reaction is effected in the presence of N-methylpyrrolidinone. Vanadium compounds [VO (acac)2, C5H5V(CO)4] are also effective catalysts for the latter reaction.
