Semiconducting highly porous thermally structurized polyacrylonitrile (TSPAN) with a conductivity of 0.1-0.2 S/cm and a specific surface area of 1000-1200 m2/g is used to set up two types of charge storage devices on the base of the commercial coin case R 2032: a rechargeable TSPAN/Li battery with high capacity of 10-16 mA h and high voltage of 4.0 V (3.2-3.4 V in the initial state) and a double-layer capacitor (DLC) with two TSPAN electrodes and a capacity of 5.45 mA h (8.9 F) between 2.2 and 0 V. Both devices were tested in detail. The battery as well as the DLC exhibit high cycle life and low self-discharge.
