Transition form factors have been extracted from available electron scattering data in the Q2 range 1-21 GeV2/c2 for the first, second, and third resonances at W = 1232, 1535, and 1680 MeV. The transition form factors for the second and third resonances appear to approach a Q-4 dependence expected from leading-order perturbative QCD. However, the DELTA(1232) transition form factor decreases faster than Q-4, which would be expected if the leading helicity-1/2 amplitude is suppressed, and nonleading processes are dominant.
