<正>1997年,Simonet等发现一种能够调节骨代谢的糖蛋白,将其命名为骨保护素(osteoprotegerin,OPG)。它与细胞核因子κB受体活化因子配基(receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa B ligand,RANKL)、细胞核因子κB受体活化因子(receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa B,RANK)组成的OPG/RANK/RANKL系统使人们对骨质疏松等疾病的发病机理有了更深入的认识。OPG与骨代谢、心血管系统、免疫系统等都有着重要联系,在类风湿性关节炎、骨髓瘤、冠心病等多种疾病中都发现OPG mRNA水平的异常。OPG的作用主要通过OPG/RANK/RANKL系统来实现,它的临床应用会给这些系统的相关疾病的诊治带来新的突破。
