农民工子女随迁能够提高其教育期望吗?——来自CEPS 2013—2014年度数据的证据

是否将子女带到务工地区生活是众多农民工家庭面临的艰难选择,需要综合考虑随迁和留守所带来的成本与收益。本文从子女教育期望这一视角对该问题进行分析,如果随迁能够提高子女的教育期望,则可以提升未来的人力资本和增加随迁的收益,并有利于农民工市民化。本文运用中国教育追踪调查(CEPS)2013—2014年度调查数据,并使用倾向得分匹配方法考虑了自选择问题后,发现农民工子女随迁能够显著提高子女自身的教育期望,并且男孩教育期望的增加要大于女孩。子女教育期望的增加主要是由于父母外出务工的激励效应以及子女自身的同群效应,并且父母陪伴能够使这两种效应得到加强。
