摘要
高管间的薪酬差距会对高管产生锦标赛激励,进而可能会影响高管创新行为及企业创新活动,然而相关研究多关注内部锦标赛激励,有关外部锦标赛对企业创新影响的研究却比较缺乏。本文利用中国上市公司数据,使用公司CEO与公司所在行业薪酬最高CEO间的薪酬差距衡量行业锦标赛激励,使用企业发明专利申请数量衡量企业创新产出,考察了行业锦标赛激励与企业创新产出的关系。研究发现:(1)行业锦标赛激励与企业创新产出呈正相关关系,表明行业锦标赛激励提升了企业创新产出;(2)当CEO预期行业晋升概率较高时,行业锦标赛激励与企业创新产出的正相关关系较为显著。本文首次研究了行业锦标赛激励对企业创新产出的影响,为中国上市公司建立高效的创新激励机制提供了参考。
