殊途同归不同效:战略变革前因组态及其绩效研究

摘要
企业战略变革是转变经济增长方式、促进产业转型升级的有效途径。然而,现实中企业却面临着"不变等死,变则找死"的两难境地。因此,如何有效地变革便成为了一个重要的研究问题。立足多视角的战略变革框架,整合模糊集定性比较分析(fsQCA)和倾向得分匹配(PSM)方法,使用中国上市企业样本,本文检验了CEO来源、CEO权力、TMT异质性、企业前期绩效和环境复杂性5个条件对战略变革的组态效应,以及不同组态对企业绩效的影响。本文的研究结果表明,3种组态均可引发高程度战略变革(殊途同归):内外交困促变革、居安思危谋变革、集思广益商变革。进一步还发现,引发高程度战略变革的3种组态对企业绩效的影响具有显著的差异(殊途异效):内外交困促变革不能显著地改善企业前期的不良绩效,居安思危谋变革能够帮助企业获取并维持竞争优势,而集思广益商变革则会对企业绩效产生不利影响。
