Synthesis and electrochemistry of a bis-η2-coordinated tetrametallic transition-metal complex.: Crystal structure of [(η5-C5H4SiMe3)2Ti(CCFc)2]Pd(PPh3)

摘要
The reaction of [Ti](C=CFc)(2) (1; [Ti] = (eta(5)-C5H4SiMe3)(2)Ti, Fc = (eta(5)-C5H4)Fe(eta(5)-C5H5)) with Pd(PPh3)(4) leads to the formation of tetrametallic {[Ti](C=CFc)(2)}Pd(PPh3) (2). The X-ray structure determination shows that both C=CFc units are eta(2)-coordinated to the Pd center, causing a planar Ti(C=C)(2)Pd arrangement. The PPh3 ligand is located outside of this plane. Cyclic voltammetry studies of 2 reveal significant differences with respect to the electrochemical behavior of 1.
