Caspases:... Current knowledge of the biology of caspases clearly identifies them as prime targets for therapeutics. In principle, inhibition of caspases could deliver therapy in acute cellular degenerative diseases. On the other hand, activation of caspases could be used as a way to therapeutically delete cells in proliferative diseases such as cancer.
