Narrow pulse shaping for high-counting-rate x-ray measurements

摘要
A fast main amplifier for x-ray measurements has been developed through the modification of a commercially available delay-line amplifier. The characteristics of this amplifier were investigated by combining it with x-ray absorption fine structure equipment and it was found that counting rates in excess of 10(6) cps are attainable at 34% counting loss,The output pulse width of the amplifier has been narrowed from 0.3 mu s to 0.12 mu s (FWHM), which is not obtained by conventional pulse-shaping amplifiers.
