摘要:
New diagnostics were installed to observe dynamical erosion processes under intense transient heat loads. Particle release from graphite and CFC was studied. Released particles from graphite consist of small and large particles. These were observed in signals of photodiode as quasi-continuum and sharp peaks. Large particle release from graphite was significantly enhanced at elevated temperatures. This implies that there is a threshold temperature for the particle releases from graphite, whereas, the particle release from CFC did not change very much at elevated temperature. The mean speed of small particles from graphite was dependent on the applied power density. This might be due to the increase of the particle size. The maximum speed of large particles was estimated to be 330 m/s in this condition. The large particles released from graphite appeared to rotate, rapidly, slowly sublimating and leaving away at a rather shallow angle.
