Optical image storage was investigated by an all-optical poling method in thermal-crosslinked azo-polyurethane films, During the writing process, samples were irradiated simultaneously by the coherent superposition of the 1064-nm fundamental and the 532-nm second-harmonic light of a nanosecond-pulsed Nd:YAG laser. This optical image storage provides a micropatterning of the second-order susceptibility for polymer films, which can transfer an infrared reading beam into a visible signal for optical processing.
