Preparation and magnetic properties of In2-xZnxCu2O5 (x=0-1.4) solid solution

Bulk monoclinic In2-xZnCu2O5 (x=0-1.4) solid solutions were prepared by the solid state reaction method. The a, c-axis lattice parameters, and β angles increased nonlinearly, and b-axis lattice parameters decreased nonlinearly with increase of the Zn doping concentration. TN significantly decreased, and until antiferromagnetic-paramagnetic transition was made in In2-xZnxCu2O5 (x = 0 - 1.4) compounds. The effective magnetic moments increased with Zn doping increase in the antiferromagnetic range. It was found that the effective magnetic moment in the paramagnetic range is smaller than that in the antiferromagnetic range.
