Until the ongoing multicenter Food and Drug Administration moderated trial is completed, laparoscopic banding's immediate offering to the community at large is not recommended. Likewise, the laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass should be confined to canters specializing in both advanced laparoscopic surgery and traditional bariatric procedures.
