This Note deals with the linear functional model which is a regression model for scalar response when the explanatory variable takes values in some functional space. A spline estimate of the functional coefficients is proposed and some asymptotic results are stated (C) 2000 Academie des sciences/Editions scientifiques ct medicales Elsevier SAS.
