摘要：

A heptachromium(II) metal chain helically wrapped by four all-syn type teptra(3-) ligands with delocalized Cr-II-Cr-II-Cr-II-Cr-II-Cr-II-Cr-II-Cr-II multiple bonds is found in the complex [Cr-7(mu(7)-teptra)(4)Cl-2]. The band structure of a hypothetical one-dimensional chromium string based on this structure is calculated and shows metallic behavior for the string structure.
