Solid-state synthesis of well-defined carbon nanocapsules from organometallic precursors

摘要
The preparation for obtaining carbon nanocapsules filled with an Fe-P composite from organometallic precursors was analyzed. The required particles are obtained via the simple pyrolysis of the [CpFe(arene)] in a sealed vessel. Pyrolytic combustion experiments were performed in an alumina tube placed horizontally in a carbolite furnace. The low-resolution images of the morphology of the obtained samples show that the samples contained a large quantity of capsules with an average diameter of 100 nm, an average wall thickness of 16 nm, and a length varying from 220 to 700 nm without amorphous carbon by-products. It was found that 700°C was the most suitable temperature for obtaining such nanocapsules.
