Effect of the ionizing radiation on poly(4,4′-dipentoxy-2,2′-bithiophene) films electrosynthesized on indium-tin oxide plates

摘要
The optical and electrical characteristics of poly(4,3'-dopenthoxy-2,2'bithiophene) films on indium-tin oxide plates change slightly when irradiated with ionizing radiations, and the optical absorbance of the substrate increases in the W-visible range. After irradiation, a charge injection from the substrate to the polymer occurs in time, leading to the formation of cation states inside the polymer at low dose rates and to the formation of an insulating polymer layer at the polymer-substrate interface at high dose rates.
