Characteristics of coke carbon modified with mesophase-pitch as a negative electrode for lithium ion batteries

摘要
In order to increase the charge-discharge capacity of carbon electrodes for lithium ion secondary batteries, coke carbon, a relatively cheap material, was modified with mesophase-pitch carbon and evaluated as an anode material. While the discharge capacity of coke carbon powder itself was only about 170 similar to 250mAh/g and that of mixture of coke carbon and mesophase-pitch carbon was 277mAh/g, after modification it had increased to about 300 similar to 310mAh/g, The capacity differences between the types of carbon are discussed by considering the shapes of their current-potential curves and charge-discharge curves.
