摘要
From the Sm3+-related absorption peaks in different lithium-borate-tungstate glass matrices ((Li2O)(1-x)(B2O3)(x))(100-y)(WO3)(y), oscillator strengths and with it charts of the Judd-Ofelt parameters for the whole glass-forming region in the borate rich corner of the system WO3-Li2O-B2O3 are given. These data are used to calculate the radiative fluorescence decay times, which are then compared with experimental fluorescence decay data. Deviations of up to a factor of 2 are attributed to the self-quenching effects in combination with different local environments for the Sm3+-ions. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
