Growth of carbon micro-coils by pre-pyrolysis of propane

摘要
Carbon micro-coils were obtained by the Ni catalyzed pyrolysis of propane as a carbon source which was pre-heated and pre-pyrolyzed at 1000-1100 degrees C. The obtained carbon micro-coils were mostly irregular double coils with a larger coil pitch of 1-5 mu m and larger coil diameter of 5-20 mu m than that obtained using acetylene.
