摘要
Infections resulting from zoonoses are becoming increasingly recognized as an important epidemiologic problem. With the discovery of tick-borne organisms as the causative agents of several new emerging infections (i.e., Ehrlichia chaffeensis and Ehrlichia phagocytophilia for human monocytic ehrlichiosis and human granulocytic ehrlichiosis), there is an emphasis on early recognition of the clinical syndromes caused by these types of pathogens.
