(Figure Presented) Microdroplets for nanoparticles: An extremely reliable method to create droplet pairs, based on hydrodynamic coupling of two spatially separated nozzles, has been developed. Droplets containing the reagents for the precipitation of iron oxide are electrocoalesced to synthesize iron oxide nanoparticles in a very fast (millisecond-scale) and reproducible reaction (see picture). © 2008 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
