摘要：

Integrative medicine, often called complementary and alternative medicine (CAM), is the use of non-Western medicine as part or all of the treatment of disease. The use of such nonstandard approaches is particularly prevalent in oncology. The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine separates alternative medicine techniques into five areas. This article reviews current research in these areas, with emphasis on randomized trials relevant to the treatment of cancer. It also summarizes the challenges facing research into integrative oncology.
