Local acoustic shock velocity and shock structure recovery measurements in glow discharges

摘要
Simultaneous local acoustic shock wave velocity measurements show that the upstream velocity exceeds the downstream velocity inside a low pressure positive column nitrogen plasma in contrast to the opposite behavior in neutral gas. The shock velocity increase is also dependent on the direction of the applied electric field. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
