Slip diffusion and Levy flights of an adsorbed gold nanocluster

摘要
Anomalous diffusion of a gold nanocrystal Au(140), adsorbed on the basal plane of graphite, exhibiting Levy-type power-law flight-length and sticking-time distributions, is predicted through extensive molecular dynamics simulations. An atomistic collective slip-diffusion mechanism is proposed and analyzed.
