摘要
The photoreaction of alkylammonium sorbates was examined in the crystalline state. The crystals of the 1-naphthylmethylammonium salt or sorbic acid provide an insoluble and crystalline polymer under UV irradiation. This polymer is converted to the water-soluble polymers by the solid-state transformation and consist of a tritactic structure, indicating that the polymerization proceeds under the crystal lattice control. The topochemical polymerization of 1,3-diene compounds proceeds not only for muconic acid derivatives but also sorbic acid derivatives.
