摘要
The striking discovery that yttrium thin films could be reversibly switched with hydrogen gas between the reflective and transparent state, very recently induced electrochromic research on rare-earth hydride-forming thin film electrodes. Reversible optical switching can also be accomplished by electrochemical means and switchable mirror properties can be adjusted by alloying.
