Interactions of C-60 with organic molecules in solvate crystals studied by infrared spectroscopy

Infrared absorption spectra (400-4000 cm(-1)) of C-60 solvate crystals grown in benzene, toluene, chlorobenzene, decalin and n-decane have been measured in the temperature range 90-300 K. Chemical reactions of C-60 With decalin and n-decane are observed. interactions between C-60 and solvent molecules have an influence on the infrared bands assigned to the C-H stretching vibrations. Solvent effects are also observed in the temperature dependence of the C-60 infrared bands.
