Numerical simulation for H+ ion-surface scattering under grazing incidence

摘要
A study of the grazing scattering of H+ ions incident on a solid surface has been made by using the dielectric response theory and the specular reflection model (SRM). Under the two contributions to the potential field: the planar continuum potential U-p and the surface image potential U-s, the ions are specularly reflected when the incident angle theta is less than the critical angle. A local-field correction (LFC) dielectric function and a local frequency-dependent dielectric function with a damping factor have been adopted, respectively, in low- and high-velocity regimes. The energy losses of H+ ions dependent on both the velocity and the incident angle are obtained and compared well with the experiment results. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
