Alternative and controversial treatments for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder

Alternative medicine has become a significant focus of mainstream literature and funded research. Alternative approaches to ADHD reflect the heterogeneity and complexity of the disorder itself. Although many methods rest entirely on tradition, anecdotal experience, or pure conjecture, others have undergone rigorous scientific evaluation. Alternative treatments for ADHD including dietary interventions, nutritional supplements, nootropic drugs, EEG-biofeedback, and others are reviewed.
