Interaction of deoxyribo-oligonucleotides with divalent manganese ions: comparison of vibrational circular dichroism and absorption spectroscopy

摘要
Vibrational circular dichroism (VCD) spectra are reported for d(GC)(20). d(GC)(20) and d(ATGCATGCAT). d(ATGCATGCAT) in D2O without Mn2+ and in the presence of 0.64 and 0.50 [Mn]/[P] concentration ratios, respectively. Changes in the VCD spectra are compared with the changes of the corresponding infrared absorption bands and interpreted in terms of structural changes in the oligonucleotides. Based on these examples, it appears that VCD provides better definition of structural modification as a result of complexation with Mn2+ ions than infrared absorption. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V.
