Calculation of the surface self-diffusion coefficient, D-s, induced by the exchange current density, i(0). Application to stress corrosion cracking

摘要
Some stress corrosion cracking (SCC) systems show a relation between the exchange current density (i(o)) and the crack propagation rate (c.p.r.). In the present publication a method for calculating the surface self-diffusion coefficient as a function of i(o) is proposed. Good agreement is found between the calculated c.p.r. values and those reported in the literature.
