Size selective photoetching of nanocrystalline CdS particles

摘要
A novel method of controlling the size of quantum-sized semiconductor particles is reported. The technique is based on photoetching and uses the size dependence of the bandgap energy of quantum-sized semiconductor colloids. Preliminary results for nanocrystalline CdS particles show that it is possible to etch particles to a size which is determined by the photon energy of the incident light.
