Kinetic model applicable to synthesis of (Cu0.25N0.25Zn0.5)Fe2O4 ferrite

摘要
A study was undertaken of the reaction whereby (Cu0.25Ni0.25Zn0.5) Fe2O4 ferrite is obtained from the corresponding oxides. The effect of synthesis temperature on the ferrite formation rate was determined by means of high temperature X-ray diffractometry (HT-XRD). An empirical model for the reaction was developed based on the hypothesis that diffusion through the product layer is the rate controlling process step. The proposed model was found to satisfactorily reproduce the amount of ferrite that formed as a function of time and temperature (750-1000 degrees C). BCT/372. (C) 2000 IoM Communications Ltd.
