Collective oscillations in microtubule growth

摘要
Large groups of microtubules are observed to undergo coherent oscillations in length. This process is suspected to be important to the mechanism of cell division. We propose a model, related to the bounded-unbounded transition of microtubules proposed by M. Dogterom and S. Leibler [Phys. Rev. Lett. 70, 1347 (1993)], which is in good agreement with experiments.
