Synthesis and characterization of porous single-crystal-like In2O3 nanostructures via a solvothermal-annealing route

A novel method has been developed to synthesize porous single-crystal-like In2O3 nanostructures with a high specific surface area of 62.6 m(2)/g without any template. The method, which can be described as facile, template free, and large scale in production, involves synthesizing the precursor through a simple solvothermal process and further annealing in a furnace. X-ray diffraction, electron microscopy, N-2 adsorption-desorption measurements, and other techniques were used to characterize the porous single-crystal-like In2O3 materials. The possible formation mechanism was discussed.
