摘要
Electrically monitored lipid bilayer membranes, protected from mechanical damage and contact with low-energy liquids by a hydrogel layer, show promise in biosensing applications. We describe the principle and implementation of a bipotentiostatic circuit for the measurement of both resistance and capacitance of gel-protected membranes. We report measurements taken using the bipotentiostat of membranes formed using glycerol 1-monooleate, and the response of these membranes to the ionophore, valinomycin.
