摘要
Recent advances in our understanding of the basic processes that contribute to inflammatory bowel disease have led to the identification of new targets for therapy Novel therapies, which include agents in development and those newly introduced for use in the clinic, include both traditional compounds and a growing number of biologic response modifiers. This article places these novel therapies within a pathophysiologic framework, highlighting completely new targets and therapeutic modalities.
