摘要
A growing interest in the study of many aspects of seed storage proteins has been observed recently. Various functional and structural data on napin, the 2S storage protein of rape (Brassica napus), have been accumulated. The primary structures of genes, cDNA as well as amino acid sequences of napin have been solved. There are also NMR data on the three-dimensional structure of napin-like protein. Some properties of napin as a defense protein have been identified and are summarized.
