The pure white light emission from three-layer electroluminescent device

We have synthesized a red fluorescent dye of 4-dicyanomethylene-2,6-di-(4-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde)-gamma-pyran (DCDM). and fabricated electroluminescent devices of glass/indium-tin oxide/N,N'-diphenyl-N, N'-(3-methyphenyl)-1,1'-biphenyl-4,4-diamine (TPD), doped with different concentration of DCDM and 2.5wt.% of 9-cyanoanthracene (CNA), 50 nm/2,9-dimethy-4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline (BCP), 40 nm/tris-(8-hydroxyquiniline) aluminium (Alq(3)), 5 nm/Ag:Mg. 500 nm/Ag cap. 100 nm. The Commission International de l'Eclairage (CIE) colour coordinates traverses along a straight line in the CIE chromaticity diagram with the concentration of DCDM. By adjusting the concentration of the fluorescent dyes. the pure white light emission was obtained at the CIE coordinates of x = 0.34 and y = 0.35.
