摘要
Low acoustic loss suspension systems and materials are essential for gravitational wave detectors. We present a design methodology which allows accurately predictable acoustic losses at the level of Q(-1) similar to 2 x 10(-8) in sapphire test masses. The results and procedures are widely applicable to the design of any low loss suspension system. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
